coping with depression

coping with depression
With all medications and health studies why can `t there be a cure for depression?

I was on Zoloft. For 6 months now. I was on other med l `before with no hope. can you please share with `r me you can cope with depression? any advice on treatment? thank you.

while not a cure, reading this book will help you understand where the field of psychiatry has been and how we got to where we are in. .. 300 years of history … this book really impressed me! … I shared with dozens of people … I know there are many books out there but this book is still located in studies and research data … Mad in America … Bad Medicine, bad science and bad long-term treatment of mental patients by Robert Whitaker for years I struggled deep, paralyzing bouts of depression and bounced around the Med for a bit, and then this one .. like the flavor of the month … I was after all "mentally ill" and relied on my documents to the minister to my needs … I followed their advice … was medication docile … see my therapist regularly (at a given moment, the only shower I took a week was to see my therapist) but I never felt "alone" during all this time … my symptoms decreased to some extent … I did not feel like crying or whining … I had periods of relative calm but I was not "me" … my senses were dulled, nothing caught my interest, tickled my funny bone or moved me .. I could not paint, my music is not satisfying me, I could not even field enough action to read a book is the way I understand drug … even when you take Comtrex to relieve the symptoms of a cold, so you can operate enough to go to work, even with medication …. they mask the symptoms … they hide the symptoms of depression so that you no longer give that damn life sucks …. but! life still sucks … Now it's just masked by a pill … and if the symptoms are masked, then go off of them back symptoms if the drug companies have a customer for life in your work by depression takes patience, perseverance and a belief that tomorrow can be better than today … I do not mean no drugs at all … they have their place, but medications alone can not do … drugs can help keep you stable while you work on whatever is depressing you … Life today is depressing … we are at war, the middle class is disappearing today, the 300000000 th American was born, the minimum wage is not livable one, and the Assembly UN General auditorium smells of sulfur … and that is before you count your own personal troubles … its not surprising that we all face depression Low grade I work in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation is an approach based on the strengths … what is good with you instead of the typical management approach docs symptoms during the past 6 years I have been Mediterranean free (I have a bottle of Clonipin somewhere as a PRN, but I have not even skipped one of those over one year), I do not drink, I work harder and with more satisfaction than I ever have in my life and I attribute that to learn to deal with my car (two words …. I consider myself as part depressed me and guide me through potholes and s ** tcreeks life … s'not easy but controlling myself was the most satisfying challenge I've ever undertaken. I suggest you read this book … He will give you food for thought in our present paradigm is a medication …. 50 years ago, there was the lobotomy, 100 years ago, the water therapy …. We believe in drugs, because that's what we know, but I'm living, breathing, sound evidence that we can and do recover … but in direct relation to the effort we put in ourselves in order to control, yes to MEDS as a bridge over water disorders, but once on the other side (and again, your Ticket to the other side develops tools for wellness and working with your strengths) to take the medication should be discontinued in order to swim without the tube … hmmm I like this analogy even … just MEDS taking is like being in the pool in an inner tube, but you want to swim! yes, the tube that avoids drowning but unless you learn to swim, you will always be dependent on the tube … and just to continue this thread, especially when a med stops working for you is like when the inner tube develops a puncture and deflate … I hope this makes some sense … long-term adherence to protocols med scare the willies outta me … so often … too often … the cure is worse than the disease and you are addicted to drugs … the site that I share with you is less than one developed by a woman who is a fellow sufferer …. one of the first recovery tools I learned was her Wellness Recovery Action Plan and to create one for me literally me back my life … The first steps were small and there were times she felt useless, but I stuck with it … I gave him a chance because the simplicity of the plan spoke to me … I could do it! and I did … I am new to me in all my glory … Top my game … Of course, things get to me yet again, but I have the tools and support and knowledge and understanding now deal with them I would give you relief from your burden … Remember, you are the destination of your beautiful road … My prayers are with you
