Osteoporosis and depression may be linked, say scientists

Scientists have recently discovered an amazing new association linked to the onset of osteoporosis in patients. The relationship, which is between metabolism bone and depression is becoming more common, according to a study published in a recent issue of European Journal of Psychotherapy.

Study revealed that with the thinnest of data between 1994 and 2007, the association "between psychiatric illness, particularly depression, and osteoporosis is the subject of a growing body of research, and increased interest between the two questions means a lot of validity, according to the researchers.

Causes of Osteoporosis

There are several reasons behind the emergence of osteoporosis including the following, reported by the Mayo Clinic:

* The size and density of bone

* Calcium, phosphorus and other bone mineral

* Turnover bone remodeling, bone /

* Start of menopause when estrogen decreases

* The maintenance of bone mass

In addition, scientists and doctors have discovered a new link between diabetic patients and the development of osteoporosis. One of the drugs used to treat insulin regulation in type 2 diabetes, known under the name Avandia, was linked to causing osteoporosis among patients, according to news reports in The New England Journal of Medicine and the Swiss researchers.

Avandia (rosiglitazone), which was developed as a new type of drug known as thiaxolidinedione GlaxoSmithKline, was released in May 1999. There are additional side effects associated with the consumption of drugs, including the following:
