Does it mean having been suffered from a depression cannot be a psychiatrist anymore even you are treated?

I want to know if it’s wrong to follow what field of interest you really love to study. I mean having a depression is such a big destruction thus it even include destroying your dreams…I really want my psychiatrist to believe me despite this stupid illness..I know what I can do… do I have to give up? does it mean following her advice takes away your dreams of not being a psychiatrist at all?

I think understanding what people are going through will help you have empathy and be an even better psychiatrist.
