Panic attacks … When to seek emergency treatment?
I was very bad panic attacks quite recently, so they last between one and a half and three hours, or if I'm told I can not remember actually. I never really really calm down, that I tremble so I tend to just myself to sleep and / unconscious? I'm really starting to wonder if this happens again if I should get my friend to call a doctor to calm me down with something. I went to my GP and I have a refferal to the hospital in a week but if I have an attack before this date do you think it would be wise to consult a doctor? Sorry … for those who ask, im 20 and im not on any medication. Ive had mental health problems for some time, including self-destruct. My last attack I had I spent hours of panic and fight with my friend that I was trying desperately to hurt me …
You should consult an phycyatrist about it. I used obtain frequent panic attacks, but I started to see a doctor, but I drugs, and I'm fine now. If you have a another panic attack, do not go to the ER then. All they will do is you talk to a social worker, you tested procedure, and you as there is nothing they can do. Next time, try calling your provider of health care and they will be able to find a doctor close to you. However, therapists and psychiatrists book months and years ahead, do not expect find something so close I feel your pain, and sincerely hope that you find help to get past this.
