What psychotic depression?

What causes and how do you know you? Has anyone ever had? Is it similar to schizophrenia? And is it more or less common than schizophrenia?

I had this earlier, lasted about a week. All I can say is that I'm pretty mad, though I thought I had schizophrenia. I'm so depressed my mind … well for me, it just felt like the sorta broken. scariest thing ever though. Whenever you try and tell you this is not true, it sure what the hell he wants. Apparently, my mother found me in the bathroom cutting a series of veins because I thought Id been bitten by a snake and necessary to get the poison.
